The Hanna Instruments HI 98103B is a portable pH meter which provides a cost effective alternative to litmus paper.

Featuring a large LCD screen, the tester provides pH readings from 0.00 to 14.00 pH (+ or - 0.2), with a resolution of 0.01 pH. The tester electrode can be replaced by unscrewing the original from the meter body, and replacing with a new HI 1270 electrode. To use the meter, simply follow the included instructions which detail the initial conditioning of the electrode, the manual two-point calibration process, and how to properly store.

The HI 98103B operates from 0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F) with max RH 95%. Two 1.5V batteries are included, and provide approximately 3000 hours of continuous use. Buffer solutions (4.01, 7.01 and 10.01 pH), storage solution (HI 70300M), and replacement electrodes (HI 1270) must be purchased separately. The meter measures 66 x 50 x 25 mm (2.6 x 2.0 x 1.0"), and weighs 50g (1.8 oz.).

pH testers measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance and are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists.
